Sanjana Bhambhani

Associate Producer

Sanjana Bhambhani is a New York-based multimedia journalist and the Associate Producer of Dear Lara. Her work, which exposes police misconduct, narrows the gender gap in the historical record and breaks down complex scientific, political, and social phenomena, appears on the BBC, MSNBC, A&E, and New York Focus, among other outlets. Sanjana’s short documentary Mr. Blanks: A Life on Parole won multiple awards at festivals around the world and her video series Women Of History has garnered public and media recognition. She previously produced and presented science, space, and history features and short documentaries for the BBC, earning international syndication. She has served on various selection committees, including as a judge for the News & Documentary Emmy Awards, a programmer for the Slamdance Film Festival and a screener for the Investigative Reporters and Editors Awards. A graduate of Columbia Journalism School and NYU, she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa in 2022 and has been recognized for her reporting, investigative work, and leadership in women’s media.
